I just realize I'm still a mid tier animator bru.

I learned how to impact frame, and camera angles, but I felt like I skipped the basics like camera movement

(when a person is punched out of frame, so the camera has to follow suit continuously)

And I found out, When I try to do that, it looks janky, like I'm a 5 year old using flipaclip, so I ask upon the 3 best/relatively active people I know,

@Bombarasclatt

@Burnincat

@TRAngA

I need guidance I beg, or I could see if there's any tutorials.

me wanna learn too

from what ive seen, add something to the background so you can go off of it. its hard to know whether a straight line is going left and right and all that. doesnt have to be smth crazy, it can be like a building, mountain or even just a crack in the floor, just something that gives the viewer a clear reference point

when the camera is rotating and changing in all different directions constantly (like if the characters are facing forwards backward left right all that) i usually just try to imagine where said structures would end up in real life (and how much their sizes would realistically change), additionally where the combatants would be facing if the camera changed from x to y and stuff (a lot of it is just how good your spatial awareness is)

and obviously dont overexaggerate camera movement. the mountain miles in the background isnt gonna move left and right violently just because the combatants up close are going back and fourth a couple meters, it should feel smooth and natural - going off that, even calm subtle camera movements that only go about a couple pixels left/right/up/down can do a lot for your animation

punching someone out of frame depends how hard they were punched tbh. you can either focus on the one punching or the one getting punched since i imagine the distance is too big to cover both of them in the camera. for me id probably follow the one being punched and leave the puncher behind to show the effect it had on them (and yeah the puncher should leave the camera quickly if you want to emphasize power)

top tier advice though would be watching animations and incorporating what they do into your own

thats like how i got 99% of my ability to animate. i just copied and adapted

Use the element of surprise, it's the only way..

Animate the epic fight scene before it even realizes it's been animated.
