ROTSS is a fantasy anime based in a school, so it's basically another Harry Potter anime magic school clone, however, despite how generic it is, it stands out.

anyways, Our protagonist with generic dark brown hair and generic protagonist cut walks along many students to the school of Kimberly academy.

during this walk we are introduced to our 6 protagonist,

The generic mc (Oliver Horn)

Wouldn't hurt a fly (Katie Aalto)

Red hair guy (Guy Greenwood)

Tsundere glasses nerd (Pete Reston)

My whole personality is a noble (Michela Mcfarlane)

and,

Obligatory samurai girl that appears in a western setting for some reason (Nanao Hibiya)

first of all I'm loving the gender balance here, 3 "guys" and 3 girls in a fantasy anime? unheard of.

anyways after our main characters get a-quainted how do I spell that- nvm, Katie gets put under a spell causing her to run towards a troll who is being paraded, said troll who is being paraded uh like has a WE ARE NOT HORSES moment and does stuff, uh that endangers Katie, then our samurai girl steps in after the other mcs step in and they save the day! oh yeah Katie also hates the enslavement of monsters or smth.

fast forward they take a few classes, they meet the typical cocky noble dude who gets a redemption like an episode after his introduction after they beat Magicians red from JoJo with the powah of frenshid.

After this he warns the mc about suspicious Professor, after this a friend of Katie's, one of the upperclassmen kidnaps her to be dissected because she managed to get the troll who almost stepped on her to talk, and apparently she doesn't have the social skills to understand you don't have to dissect people to learn about social skills, anyways samurai girl Nanao and generic mc Oliver beat the girl up after its revealed Nanao can use a spellblade and pulls a Vergil type move.

I forgot to say, but a spellblade is actually a technique, there are 6 known publicly and 7 that actually exist

and didn't realize it,

spellblades are unavoidable sure hit attacks you cant defend

The way Nanao uses it is by CUTTING SPACE BETWEEN THE TARGET FASTER THAN LIGHT BY RECOGNIZING SPACE AS A OBSTACLE

so they beat the girl who wants to dissect Katie and they have the like 5th time Katie ended up in a hospital

it turns out suspicious teacher was helping the girl who wanted to dissect Katie

this is revealed when Oliver goes with him and then says you did this didn't you blah blah blah, so he is a bad person, it turns out Oliver is actually a edgelord tryna be John Smith not even shadow just John Smith and kills the professor/teacher because he has a grudge and his mom died to half the school staf

HE BEATS HIM BY MANIPULATING FATE TO THE DESIRED TIMELINE WHERE HE DOESNT DIE

revealing the he is the 4th spellblade, and uses fate and future and stuff to create a unavoidable attack by choosing the timeline where his attack lands, after this he tortures the guy and its revealed that Oliver/noll because he copied shadow and needs a edgy name leads a cult and has a mask like John smith, he also copied cid kagenou by being a generic mc.

Then the bad guys talk about how bad guy died and uh its been 4 months

after this they go broom riding and samurai girl finds Oliver's mom's broom and rides it or smth, oh yeah remember how I quoted 3 "guys"?

well it turns out trans people are magical and that Pete the nerd is a magical trans called a reversi or smth ( I'm dying ) and they switch genders, and this makes him stronger because they said so,

this is all I've seen so far of the anime and the last two characters haven't got much time to shine

I will update this once I've binged,

also I don't cover a lot of the plot so go watch it yrself

but by God Katie is the damsel like 5 times, Guy has zero plot relevance and Michela is their to make introducing the noble characters faster, samurai girl Nanao carries them half the time and Oliver is Oliver.

And Pete is now a girl guy
