The time I tried to fix my bike
I thought fixing my bike would be simple, just a quick adjustment or two, but as soon as I started, it turned into a full-on mission. Screws wouldn’t budge, the chain slipped off more than once, and a tiny spring flew across the garage and disappeared like it had a mind of its own. I sat on the floor surrounded by tools I barely knew how to use, muttering to myself and occasionally laughing at how ridiculous the whole thing was. Hours passed and the bike still wobbled a little, the chain kept slipping, but somehow I felt accomplished just for trying and learning a bit about how it all worked, and when I finally rode it down the street, slightly crooked but moving, it felt like winning a tiny battle that no one else knew about.
