i think when it comes to shading, you need to keep the atmosphere in mind

whats the lighting like? what time of day is it? even what time of year matters such as using colder colours for winter

because everything i draw tends to be in golden hour, i tend to shade my stuffs with reds and oranges

if you need help with shading forms and how to actually put shadow and light down, youre on your own fella 😔
