for some reason in the editor the quality looks great, and then in the actual animation to view looks so bad quality. if there's a way to fix it?

It looks about the same to me. It's just doing an MP4 encode on your frame images, so the quality shouldn't be any worse than usual for a video.

If you put it in pixel art mode, the colours might be off and there will be dithering because of how the .gif file format works.
