How do I stop biting my mouth because it hurts

I once had a bump that lasted 2 weeks and i was so tired of it that i just stopped moving my jaw and starting biting my tongue on purpose just to avoid the pain and bleeding

i just bit my cheek while eating cereal and typing this :(
