so yeah, yesterday, we had an honor roll assembly to congratulate students and stuff

i was the very first person called and they called me by my first name instead of my preferred name

basically, irl i go by my middle name and usually, teachers just call me by my first name when i don't correct/tell them and i get embarrassed because i was bullied for it in elementary school.

anyways

a girl in my ela class brought up honor roll and then mentioned me and said my first name

she told me it was pretty and i shouldn't be ashamed of it

i felt butterflies in my stomach (😳) and i feel happy now

though went i got home i had to ask my dad how to pronounce my name because i haven't used it ever since pre-k
