do trigger warnings actually help people?

i don't want to come off as rude or anything, i'm genuinely wondering if they help (if i were to use them or something)

like, if you read a trigger warning, wouldn't it make you think about what you've gone through?

i understand that it helps you avoid sensitive content but yeah.

what if someone didn't censor a certain word correctly or did too much and made it look like an entirely different word?

I find it pointless when people put it in titles with obviously extremely gorey art, I mean at least they put it I guess but it doesn’t make sense imo considering there’s a 99.9999999% chance they already saw it,

Trigger Warnings are a huge help for me

Though, I still stay curious afterwards

But it helps me prepare for what I'm about to see

not gonna lie, I completely ignore trigger warnings sometimes, the only warnings I don't ignore are flash warnings :p

but they're helpful, I mean even just the word mention of something sends me through hell but hey ho that's alright; it's better to have a clear warning rather than none at all ^^

looking at this makes me think that it's best to put a warning in the title/thumbnail and a few seconds in the video (and depending on the video, i should handle more serious topics well)
