Mechanical pencils are 1000x better that normal pencils. To anyone who says otherwise: "Are you okay? Who hurt you?"

Now, you might be asking, "Why are these clearly better pencils clearly better than wood?"

That is and excellent question! It is because, they can be used infinitely. In theory. Your mechanical pencil CAN break, but it's rare. I hope. Your standard stupid wooden pencils are not reusable and if you break it, you have to, A). twist and turn a handle or your pencil to sharpen it, or B). Disturb the silence and make a giant BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ sound to sharpen your pencil. If your mechanical pencil breaks, you just have to click it a few times. Boom. Problem solved.

Next is erasers: What the actual flip are these ugly pink, green, even black wooden pencil erasers? WAHT. They erase terribly, and every 1 an 4 wooden pencil erasers leave a freaking stain on the paper you are using and it's just a major inconvenience because NOW, THERE'S A STUPID ERASER STAIN ON YOUR PAPER AND IT'S PROBABLY RED OR PINK SO THAT WILL BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION RATHER THAN THE ACTUAL DRAWING AND I JUST- SUYHGJEWKLHFLEWJK

...So that's one of my triggers. :)

Then, you have mechanical pencil erasers. Usually white, quick and simple, don't leave a stain. Ever. And if they do, that's because you abused the pencil when you were younger. :)

Writing convivence. Wooden pencils are terrible at this. They feel so much slower than mechanical pencils. Mechanical pencils are quick and easy to write with. Then you have wooden pencils that are SLOW. WHY. WHY SLOW? BE FAST. BE SPEEEEED. SPEED.

These pencils fall apart. They are paper pencils. They suck. Never use them. If you do, who hurt you?

Mechanical pencils don't need paper to look nice. They already do. They always have. No matter what you think, mechanical pencils have always looked good. Wooden pencils need paper to look nice. Mechanical pencils don't.

Lastly. Popularity. I look around my classroom right now. I see 2 people out of maybe 20+ people using normal boring disgusting pencils. Everyone else (including me) is using a mechanical pencil.

In conclusion. I have so much to say about pencils, that it takes up one whole comment character limit and a bit. Mechanical pencils are 1000x better than wooden pencils, and if you say otherwise, yu have never used a mechanical pencil.

I use the erasers on the pencils a lot though so I have to resort to other things like those erasers from staples or little cute erasers like these:

Wooden pencils are stupid. I constantly use color pencils and sharpeners just eat them up. I already have to think about buying replacement colors 1 month into using them, ugh. Regular pencils suck twice as much. They can NEVER have a consistent style so you might have to sharpen constantly unlike mechanical pencils. Mechanical pencils don't break as often or at all, while you're dead when you drop your regular (normie) pencils and you don't know until you're sharpening it.

Don't get me started on stupid giant and/or wrapper pencils.

i use it for fine art-

i am late but i do not like mechanical pencils,

when my brother still lived with us years back he would always use them but i really hate them, thats not to say i love wooden pencils but theyre better than mechanical imo. Why? because the led is WAY too thin. like every single time i try to use it it instantly snaps, idk if its because i usually right in cursive but even if its in print it still breaks. In theory they sound nice but theyre awful to use

my brother would buy the mechanical pencils with thick and strong lead.

i buy .7 lead so it doesn't snap that easily unless you're realllly aggressive.

when you insert *fresh and new* lead into those pencils they're going to start writing really thin and engrave into your paper, but what i usually do is press down on the pencil hard on paper and draw a circle so it writes normally.
