Hello all.

Due to widespread abuse of the site by people with alt accounts and fake email addresses - it will shortly be required to use a valid and verified email address on this site.

You may remember I trialled doing this in the past, but hit some problems. This time:

- To post a comment or thread, you must be verified

- To post a public animation you must be verified

- You will be able to use one email address across alt accounts

This change will be released very soon.

I would rather not do this, but unfortunately my email hosting provider does not allow the use of fake email addresses you all are using and it is causing issues.

At the same time though, rest in peace Frank Sinatra account

so yes, we may be able to change to email (to verify)? because, like most, i used my school email

I checked one of my emails, and apparently I accidentally used someone else’s email that doesn’t belong to me-

I didn’t read the comments before mine when commenting that aaaaAaaaaAAAAAASASAAAAAAADJAHDN

I didn't realise this thread existed-

and now I'm panicking because I'm pretty sure the account for this is a fake one because I used my actual email on @Offbrand-Sparky

I know we can switch out our email addresses but can we switch it out to an email that I already have an account on? Orrrr

If not, then I guess I'll go out and make up a whole new email and use that-

I will start allowing you to re-use email addresses between alt accounts. I'm not *totally* evil 😁

The change is rolling out now.

If you have difficulties and as a result cannot post here - please email me help@theanimator.co.uk ensuring that you tell me which username you are having problems with.

You won't be able to comment or post public animations.

and nothing will happen to the accounts themselves?

No, accounts are otherwise unchanged

You may need to refresh the site for it to work properly. Without a refresh, unverified accounts will just silently fail to post comments.
