if people are mean, then what reason are they most likely mean for? and what are they tryna accomplish?

Depends on what they're doing.

If they're bullying you for looks, they're most likely insecure or are they are raised that way (or others influence them/ they're trying to be cool). For example, my old bullies in elementary school used to call me ugly and fat (especially if was snacking, took off my hoodie for once in my life, or asked for food). His mom also worked in my school as a 5th grade teacher and the bully would often get scolded for being mean. He only bullied me, and I guess it was because of how shy/anxious and insecure I was. I I think it was for an ego boost or because of how his mom was. She seems nice in general but I don't know how things are at home.
