no. people wanted to get other to eat their new invention, back in 1 AD. They thought: "Man, this looks like that wolf that was trying to kill my wife". So they called it "wolf dogs" but no one like it because they were scared of wolves. When dogs became a thing, they renamed it "hot dogs" because dogs were cute and friendly. Then everyone bought them :D
