The Animator

So once upon a time, there was a family with kids...I guess. And one night, they were all sleeping in their rooms, fast asleep. They woke up in the morning and came to the kitchen. The mom told her daughter, "Someone left the garage door open last night. You dad and your brother came home from a scout meeting a bit later and they said the garage was closed then." The daughter didn't know where this was going but she started to get curious on who left the garage wide open the previous night. Her dad soon came in the kitchen, about to eat breakfast but her mother kept mumbling, "Who left the garage open?" The husband and wife started having a discussion about how the garage was electric, not manual. And how it'd need to be converted to manual first in order for it to be possible to open the garage from the outside. The family split up; the daughter going to her room for school and the rest of them going outside for who knows what. The daughter came back down just as the family came back inside. "They broke into your dad's car to get the garage opener." The mom said. "The window must'a been open" The oldest younger brother said.

The three of them made their way to the garage, where the father was. "They left all the bikes. And this side of the shelf and this other side. But they took my saw and basically everything else in this little compartment." He motioned to a little cabinet that was empty. "Oh and they took the yellow boat-" The dad pointed across the garage to a small table in the corner with an obvious missing spot but around it was a very small boat with a controller inside a clear plastic case. The boy started crying cuz he thought he wasn't safe, blah blah blah, the family came in

(And the yellow boat was a remote controlled boat. Not an actual "let's go to the lake" boat-)

I've never been a person to write short stories but it's actually not that much-

what did the robbers take

just a bunch of power tools and a toy boat
