But what if the fart flight runs out, and you don't have anything in you? From about 10 meters you have a 50% chance of D E A T H . So, sitting down while sleeping is better. And if you sleep laying down, with no underwear, a tree branch can't catch you and you have a 50% chance of death.

Depending on the dream situation, yes. But, if it is accurate to science (for whatever reason), you will have to have hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and methane in your digestive track. So, no. Breathing won't help. And, with whatever power level that fart is at, depends on how high you go. If you're high enough when you fall, you can technically just fall right through the tree branch.
