I really don't want seem like a bad person telling you this, but maybe go into incognito or private mode if you have one. Things aren't seen in your history, but there are some things that are visible to certain people, so some research should be done.

It isn't bad place, and you could talk to people. I don't think your school would find it as bad as long as you don't say anything bad.
